Learn the Art of Reiki Healing

Usui Reiki is a natural healing art which was founded in Japan by a man named Mikao Usui over 100 years ago. Although Reiki is a little over 100 years old, the art of energy healing can be traced back thousands of years. Usui began a personal search that ended with his having contact with the energy of Reiki. Eventually, Usui Reik was introduced to the western world Hawaii in 1937 by Hawayo Takata Sensei who studied under Usui in Japan. Reiki is passed on from teacher to student through a specific initiation, teachings and a defined practice.

The Japanese word ‘reiki’ can be translated as ‘universal life energy’ and the Usui System is a way of working with reiki for healing of self and others on the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels. The word healing is used in the sense of regaining harmony and wholeness.
